Egg Harvest!

Just a quick post to say that today I had the egg harvest and it all went well!

The clinic and the staff were totally amazing, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to have had the procedure. I will be posting more about the lead up to the harvest and the harvest itself soon, in the form of a diary that I kept to document each of the past few days.

For now, however, I will say that I have been told that by looking at the eggs harvested under the microscope, doctors have been able to observe that they are perfectly healthy and mature, ready to be fertilised whenever that day comes. I was also told that if I ever wish to have my eggs genetically tested then that service will be available to me.

That is all obviously fantastic news, news that was very much needed, and I feel much more positive about the whole thing now. I am celebrating by eating mini eggs and Cadbury eggs; basically, my diet today will consist of egg related foods as a tribute to my ickle little eggs that are now so happily, albeit probably a little coldly, sitting in a freezer somewhere in London.

Updates soon, hope everyone has had an eggcelent day.

You have been quite a woman over the last couple of weeks. It hasn’t been easy but you kept strong and got through. It has also been the perfect excuse for eating lots of chocolate eggs. Love you baby Beth, lots of rest now needed for chemo which I know you will smash too xxxxxx

Hi Beth,
My name is Roseanna and I work at CRGH (I do the social media, and patient satisfaction). I am so glad that your egg collection procedure went well yesterday, and that you’re feeling more positive about your reproductive future. I am a young woman, not much older than you, and I think what you’re doing is incredibly brave. I hope that your journey will help to raise awareness of SARCOMA. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey on behalf of everyone here at CRGH. x
